"Too Good-looking to Be Quarantined"

Photo source: The Drudge Report (www.drudgereport.com) May 31, 2007

Real life does not stray far from the third-grade playground. In the third grade, the good-looking kids get to be teachers' pets, get more food rations and generally can get away with a lot of mischiefs. An ugly kid will be unduly punished.

This TB-afflicted lawyer is so good-looking (with a hot bride to boot) that he intimidated the border guard to allow him to enter the United States even though there was a red alert out for TB Andy's arrest. An uglier couple would have been arrested and beaten.

It's amazing how much symmetry matters in this world!

At Seventeen in 1990: Ravaged Face & No Social Graces

AT SEVENTEEN
(Janis Ian)
I learned the truth at seventeen
That love was meant for beauty queens
and high school girls with clear skinned smiles
who married young and then retired

The valentines I never knew
The Friday night charades of youth
were spent on one more beautiful
At seventeen I learned the truth

And those of us with ravaged faces
lacking in the social graces
desperately remained at home
inventing lovers on the phone
who called to say – come dance with me
and murmured vague obscenities
It isn't all it seems at seventeen

A brown eyed girl in hand me downs
whose name I never could pronounce
said – Pity please the ones who serve
They only get what they deserve
The rich relationed hometown queen
marries into what she needs
with a guarantee of company
and haven for the elderly

Remember those who win the game
lose the love they sought to gain
in debentures of quality and dubious integrity
Their small-town eyes will gape at you
in dull surprise when payment due
exceeds accounts received at seventeen

To those of us who knew the pain
of valentines that never came
and those whose names were never called
when choosing sides for basketball
It was long ago and far away
The world was younger than today
when dreams were all they gave for free
to ugly duckling girls like me

We all play the game, and when we dare
we cheat ourselves at solitaire
Inventing lovers on the phone
Repenting other lives unknown
that call and say – Come dance with me
and murmur vague obscenities
at ugly girls like me, at seventeen

Let's Get the Facts Straight!!!

Now this is Torture with a capital T as prescribed by an Al Qaeda Manual. Yet, neither Nancy "Botox" Pelosi nor Her Thighness Hilary Rotten Clinton (Evita) has whispered a word of condemnation against these 7th century savages. Even animals have superior ethos than these filthy cockroaches.
This is NOT torture. This was an adolescent prank at Abu Ghraib, or it could be kinky sex in West Hollywood. Definitely not torture by any stretch of the human imagination.

Remembering "Joe-jitsu" Anzack

Joe Anzack of Torrance, CA last logged onto his MySpace account on April 24, 2007. He wanted to return home and settle down with someone, according to his brief autobio on MySpace. Joe will never get to do that. Joe was one of three U.S. soldiers who were taken captive by evil-doing Al-Qaeda types, whom the left in this country puissantly supports. It is reported today that Joe's tortured and mutilated body was found in the Euphrates River in Iraq. Joe was only 20 years young. It had not even been two years since he graduated from South High School in Torrance.

This is the first war fought in the Internet era. As frequently chronicled here on The Fairbank Report, the web -- in particular the blogs -- have given voices to fallen heroes. See The Fairbank Report's numerous salutes to fallen liberators; our telling of their stories and lives are made possible by the blogs of the friends of the fallen soldiers. In Hero Ming Sun's case, almost instantly, Ming's friends gave voice to his life via the web. So again here in Liberator Joe Anzack's case. He speaks -- from the grave. And his friends' heartfelt voices via his and their blogs portray a short but fulfilled life. Joe's words and pictures haunt us. It is as if he's still with us.

Perhaps he is.

Tainted Chinese Toothpaste!

Will these bloody Chinese stop at nothing to make money?

Ban all Chinese imports NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Panama traces tainted toothpaste to China
Published: May 19, 2007 at 1:15 PMPANAMA CITY, Panama, May 19 (UPI) -- Officials in Panama say they believe a toxic ingredient found in thousands of tubes of toothpaste can be traced back to a manufacturer in China.

The discovery of diethylene glycol in toothpaste comes on the heels of a scare over contaminated pet food blamed on a food additive made in China.

The New York Times said Saturday that diethylene glycol, which is found in some anti-freeze, has been used before by product counterfeiters as a sweet-tasting, low-cost substitute for glycerin.

Panamanian officials reported Friday that most consumers who used the tainted toothpaste spit it out because it tastes strange. Nevertheless, around 100 people died in Panama last year when diethylene glycol was mixed with cold medicine that also was sourced from China.

To Fair Daisy

Dedicated to D from Lost in Emotions

By Nicholas Gordon

You don't love me, but ah! do I love you!
It kills me that right now you have another!
Each day I watch the antics of you two
Happy hopping birds and say, why bother?
But I am chained to you as fish to sea,
Or as the moon to Earth, or Earth to sun.
The thought of letting go so tortures me
That I would rather let my anguish run.
I know that if I wait you will be mine.
Such love as this must sweep all walls away!
I am your natural light, and I will shine
Till due rotation turns your night to day.
Until then, this sorrow will remain:
My hope of joy must be my source of pain.

Deja Vu: The 'Ho's of State are Back with Amnesty Bill

It seems only yesterday that the same whores in the United States Senate voted for an amnesty bill. In actuality, it has been one year. Yet the 'ho's are back at it again. Will they never give up, these 'ho's of state?!

daisies

By Lost in Emotion

I bring thee daisies because it is thy name sake.
Thy beauty is perfection: skin white and smooth as fresh milk;
Lips full and luscious and cherry red;
Body so curved as to epitomize the hour glass;
And bosoms so generous never seen before in thy race.

I am cursed as thou art fortunate.
I am wretched as thou art gleeful and carefree.
I am hideous as thou art fetching.
I am forlorn as thou art cheerful.
I am forsaken 'cause thy beau is embraced by thy arms...

daisies for Daisy

By Lost in Emotion

Alas, You are young and beautiful--nay Fetching
Never have My eyes seen such Pulchritude
Perfect Size, Perfect Shape, Perfect Giggles
Too young for Me? Yet, not so Young at twenty-three

But You belong to another
More glamorous than I
And perhaps more deserving than I?

Mine can only observe from afar
Hoping, wishing and dreaming
All from afar...

Chinaman's Wok

As always, The Fairbank Report brings you stories that others have not yet dug up or dared to dig up. The following from www.pekingduck.org is outright scary:

A mysterious epidemic is killing pigs in southeastern China, but international and Hong Kong authorities said today that the Chinese government is providing little information about it, or about the contaminated wheat gluten that has caused deaths and illnesses in other animals...

...Because pigs can catch many of the same diseases as people, including bird flu, the two U.N. agencies maintain global networks to track and investigate unexplained patterns of pig deaths.

Hong Kong television broadcasts and newspapers were full of lurid accounts today of pigs staggering around with blood pouring from their bodies in Gaoyao and neighboring Yunfu, both in Guangdong Province. The Apple Daily newspaper said that as many as 80 percent of the pigs in the area had died, that panicky farmers were selling ailing animals at deep discounts and that pig carcasses were floating in a river.

The reports in Hong Kong said the disease began killing pigs after the Chinese New Year celebrations in February, and is now spreading. But state-controlled news outlets in China have reported almost nothing about the pig deaths, and very little about the wheat gluten problem...
